HAVE I SHOWN YOU THIS.....

This is the last few photos of the decorating I have to show...

MY OTHER CUPBOARD

This cupboard is a little hard to photograph because is has a mirror at the back of it but I love it.  It holds a lot of my favourite Jim Shore pieces and stays out all year round...
At this time of year I add this..
These three Santa's are just amazing and the work and detail in them is just beautiful, I bought them years ago from a girl who hand made them and I pack them away safely every year and when they come out I know Christmas isn't far away.

I also want to show you a couple of my favourite Jim Shore pieces in the cupboard, this..
And this...
And this..
And everyone needs a Nativity..
And last but not least one of my favourite things...
So that's it I do hope you have enjoyed my decorating for those of you who have asked my "Christmas injury" has healed nicely thank you.

Tomorrow I will post some more goodies I am putting up for sale so drop by if you are interested.

Hope you had a great Sunday.

MORE SHOW AND TELL.

I have a little more to show but first I wanted to share.  I received an email asking me how long it took to decorate the dresser.  I do it in stages and this time it took me a few days but I worked on it for most of the days.  The hardest part is putting the garland and the lights up the very top.  I'm not that tall and if I had any brains I would get a ladder but no I get a chair and I go from the floor to the chair to the first ledge of the dresser and luckily it is very strong and can hold my weight and then I stand on tip toes to get it up.  Then I get back down and stand back to look.  I also made many trips up and down the chair to reach the top shelf and at the end of the first day I had the garland and lights up and the top shelf completed and was a little pleased with myself until I got out of bed the next morning.  Firstly I could barely get out of bed the muscles in the back of my legs were crying they were hurting that much - I had a Christmas injury - pulled two "hammies" in the backs of my legs.  So the next day I had to have a day of rest and limped around the house.  I rallied the next day and finished it off.  So today I want to show one of my favourite things....

WAIT THERE'S MORE......

Tonight I would like to share one of my favourite things in my house, my big kitchen dresser.  When I found the cupboard I mentioned in passing to my husband I had found a kitchen dresser, I failed to mention how big it was and that it came in two sections!  When I first started decorating the cupboard I only did the bottom section this year I managed to fill the four shelves...

MY DRESSER

 Side on...
How about a close up...
and..
and..
I think if you look closely you can see one or two pieces from Jim.....

And there is this...
And my favourite pillow all made from wool - very snuggly...
I think that's enough for tonight tomorrow I will share another one of my favourite things.

IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS......

Like many of you I have a love for Christmas that knows no bounds and it stems from my childhood.  My parents were incredibly hard working people but money was always tight, every Friday when they both got paid mum would sit at the kitchen table and get out "the envelopes" (my mums saving system).  The meat money in one, fruit money in another and so on and every week no matter how tight money was some would go in the Christmas envelope so no matter what was happening in our lives Christmas was always something special.  I always treasure Christmas and the memories it brings so decorating for me brings me great joy and I would now like to share it with you.  I may have to do it over a couple of days so you don't get photo overload oh and if you are a Grinch it's best if you look away now...

Come On In....
Normal quilts are taken down and Christmas one's are put in their place...
Lucky I can sew - I can't take photos....
and...
Did I mention I love applique...
My 50th birthday quilt from friends out all year....
Santa's at the door...
Snowy, Mosey and Santa greet you on your way in...
They are standing guard over my small Jim Shore tree (have I mentioned I love Jim)...
Three Wise Santa's at the back door....
Santa and Mrs Claus ready to start cooking for Christmas...
Won't be long Mr Snowman...
My Big Boy ready to welcome you...
And everyone needs a pretty tree...
 At Night...
And Day....

I will leave it there for now and tomorrow I will share a little more with you.

I hope you enjoyed your visit.

Well I have finally found a minute to show you what I worked on with my friends on Friday night..
I worked on this quilt, this is the photo of what it should look like when it's finished..
The quilt is by designer Pearl Louise and I just love it this is the block I finished..
It is slowly coming together I have all the applique blocks finished.  The reason I'm late to post is I have been VERY busy doing this.....
and this....
The Christmas decorating is nearly finished so I am looking forward to sharing with you hopefully by Tuesday.

Hope you are having a great Sunday.

THINGS TO DO.

Apart from Christmas my other passion is my garden, especially my roses.  I have about 80 and in Winter when I am knee deep in the wet, freezing cold and bleeding from pruning them I want to pull them all out.  But come Spring when you see the new growth you forgive all the rose thorns and wait for the first flower.  This year the Winter work has paid off and we have had lots of beautiful blooms.  Last week I went to a fund raiser for the Cancer Council a friend was holding so I went and picked these...
And I turned them into this...
They were raffled off so that was a bit of fun.
So after the excitement of my new gran baby this week my thoughts have turned to decorating for Christmas so I packed the china up from the kitchen cupboard...
and then like Old Mother Hubbard I went to the cupboard..
Oh deer!  I had better get started......
